Ms. Mitchell is a three-time graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to joining the Hampton Mental Health Associates team, Ms. Mitchell served as a psychiatric mental health nurse for over 12 years in various capacities. She has worked with adults and geriatric patients with dual diagnoses and substance abuse/chemical dependency in several inpatient units and adult facility-based crisis units. Her clinical experience includes working with patients with major depressive disorder, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and PTSD. Her goals include instilling hope by providing therapeutic care and support, eliminating stigma through advocacy and awareness, and breaking down barriers to treatment. Ms. Mitchell is currently pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in Advanced Practice Leadership through Chamberlain University.
